Panelboard and load-center change-outs, branch and feeder breaker replacement, and trip testing on breakers already in service. Where a panel brand is obsolete and no listed replacement breaker exists, we change out the interior or the whole assembly rather than hunting salvage parts.

A breaker won't reset — or trips again as soon as it does
Either the circuit is faulted or the breaker's mechanism has aged out. Both need a meter on the load before anyone buys a part.
Discolored breaker, warm dead-front, or a smell
Heat at a breaker is a loose lug or a failing device. This is the one item on the list we do not schedule for next week.
No spare poles left in the panel
Tandem breakers and double-tapped lugs where a sub-panel belongs. Every new load makes the next one harder and the labels less true.
Your panel brand is discontinued
Federal Pacific Stab-Lok, Zinsco, Challenger: no listed replacement breaker made today fits, and carriers increasingly write it up at renewal.
Ground-fault protection has never been performance-tested
NEC 230.95(C) calls for a performance test when GFP is first installed, and NFPA 70B puts it on a schedule after that. On 480Y/277V services 1000A and up, nobody finds out it failed until it fails.
The panel directory is twenty years out of date
During an outage, the time spent finding the right breaker is the outage. A verified directory is an hour of work that pays back once.
Four steps, in this order.
Read the load before specifying the panel
A recording ammeter on the feeder, or the utility's 12-month demand data under NEC 220.87. The new panel gets sized from measured load, not a rule of thumb.
Permit and the outage window
Permit to the AHJ, and where the work touches the service entrance, an outage window and re-energization sequence agreed with JEA, FPL, or Clay Electric.
Change-out or interior swap
New panelboard, or a new interior in the existing enclosure where code and the listing allow it. Lugs torqued to the manufacturer's value, with the value written down.
Test, label, and hand over
Trip test where the gear calls for one, GFP performance test where the service requires it, typed directory, arc-flash label refreshed to what's actually installed.
